Beyoncé has her sights set on winning an Oscar, as she reportedly plans on writing and starring in her own movie about Saartjie Baartman, a South African woman who was displayed in London freak shows during the 1800s and nicknamed “Hottentot Venus” because of her large bottom.

According to The Sun, Beyoncé has recruited a staff of acting coaches and writers to help bring Baartman’s story to life. During her time as a performer, Baartman was involved in a court case where she felt forced to exhibit her body against her will. However, she ended up losing. It’s these moments of her life and more that Beyoncé plans to bring out on the big screen.

Sources say Beyoncé wants to be taking seriously as an actress. She believes that writing a screenplay and taking on the leading role will allow her to gain the respect of the film industry. Sources also note she’s been doing a lot of research through books on Baartman, and wants to make sure she tells her story the right way.

Beyoncé hasn’t announced when we’ll be seeing the project. But as an already accomplished artist in music, we know she’ll be striving for perfection to hopefully win an Academy Award someday.

Last night, a songwriter/producer by the name of Glass John took to Twitter and claimed the delay behind Rihanna’s ANTI album is allegedly because of Travi$ Scott. John wrote and co-produced on Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better,” a song you may remember from her posting a snippet late last year. According to John, Travi$ Scott also delayed “Kiss It Better” from being released and said the rapper “keeps putting doubt in her mind.”

Alphaville’s ‘Little America’ DVD reformatted to HD, wide screen. Best watched in 720p. An audio version of this is still available worldwide under the name ‘Stark Naked and Absolutely Live’. The DVD was recorded in July of 1999 and released in 2,000. It contains live performances of everything – from their big hits to fan favorites.
Alphaville kept playing until the folks running the venue told Alphaville they had to shut it down. Unfortunately, no video can do a live concert justice — certainly not this one. But enjoy the best you can! Unfortunately, the ‘Little America’ DVD is not in print at this time. It was a very limited offer, but you can still get the magnificent audio version! Members of One Direction said today that life is “different” with the absence of former member Zayn Malik, but that things are still going “great.” “Obviously, it’s different but, you know, when you lose a member of your team obviously everyone gets a little bit close together,” Liam Payne, 21, said today on “Good Morning America.” “It’s still going great and that’s what this album is about,” Payne said. “We’re still going strong and we’re all still here.” Payne and his bandmates — Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson — surprised fans on Friday with the unexpected release of their first single, “Drag Me Down,” from their forthcoming album.
