Theuns Jordaan is sonder twyfel een van die grootste stemme wat Afrikaans nog opgelewer het. Met ses solo-albums plus twee DVD’s met Juanita du Plessis, is sy verkope al by meer as 1,5 miljoen eenhede. Hiermee het hy bewys dat hy nie net ‘n sanger van formaat is nie, maar ook ‘n baie talentvolle liedjieskrywer.

Theuns se eerste album, Vreemde Stad, is in 2000 vrygestel en is die suksesvolste debuutalbum ooit in Afrikaans met verkope van meer as 200 000. Sy tweede album, Tjailatyd, het ook meer as 200 000 verkope behaal en sy derde album, Seisoen, se verkope is reeds verby 130 000. Sy Grootste Treffers-album was een van 2007 se suksesverhale met verkope van meer as 90 000. KoueVuur, die album waarop Theuns die musiek van Koos du Plessis sing, was eweneens `n treffer by aanhangers met weereens verkope van meer as 120 000. Sy vyfde album, Roeper, is die grootste verkoper van 2012 met verkope van oor die 150 000. Met sy volgende album besluit Theuns om ‘n versameling van Engelse liedjies op te neem wat hy vroeër jare as student al in kuierplekke gesing het vir sakgeld! Die resultaat is “Tribute to the Poets”, met verkope van meer as 120 000. Hierdie uitsonderlike verkoopsyfers besorg aan Theuns die hoogste gemiddelde verkope per album in die land.

As sanger het Theuns oor die jare bekend geword vir die gemak waarmee hy gehore vermaak. Van sagte ballades en liefdesliedjies tot op-en-wakker deuntjies wat mense op hulle stoele laat dans. Een ding is seker – Theuns weet net hoe!

Hy is ook nie net ‘n uitstekende vertolker van sy eie werk nie. Wanneer hy die musiek van kunstenaars soos Koos du Plessis, Johannes Kerkorrel of Koos Kombuis sing, bring hy daardie liedjies met sy eiesoortige styl na waarderende gehore. Met sy weergawe van Beautiful in Beaufort-Wes het hy Suid-Afrika voorgestel aan die liedjieskrywer Gert Vlok Nel en as dit nie vir Theuns was nie, het die meeste Suid-Afrikaners nooit op Loslappie gejol nie.

Theuns se samewerking met Anton L’Amour is een van die sterkstes in Afrikaanse musiek. Anton is nie net een van die land se beste kitaarspelers nie, hy het homself ook al bewys as ‘n talentvolle musiekregisseur. Wanneer Theuns en Anton saam op ‘n verhoog klim, is die gehoor verseker van musiek uit die boonste rakke. Hulle werk uitstekend saam, ken mekaar en vul mekaar aan. Saam is hulle ‘n gedugte tweemanskap wat gehore oor die hele land vermaak. ‘n Theuns Jordaan-vertoning met Anton L’Amour op die verhoog, is een wat nie misgeloop moet word nie!
