Liefling die Movie ‘n Musiekfliek vir die hele gesin, met 24 Afrikaanse liedjies. Starts Friday 19th November at Nu Metro Cinemas: numet.ro Featuring an all-star cast and a soundtrack that includes the most well-known afrikaans songs from the 70s to today, this is a love story in the tradition of recent spectacular cinematic musicals. Taking its name from tenor Gé Korsten’s timeless and hugely popular song, ‘Liefling’ (sweetheart), the film tells the story of Liefling Marais, an adventure-loving young girl with a passion for life. She lives on a farm in Hartbeespoort with her father, Simon, mother, Linda, grandfather, Karel, brother, Kobus and housekeeper, Katy. Simon is a professor at the university and in his class are three friends, Jan, Pieter and Gert, who also live on the outskirts of the city in Hartbeespoort. It’s the December holidays and Jan, a civil engineering student raised by his grandmother, has his eye on Liefling, although spoilt little rich girl Melanie has other plans up her sleeves. Fate intervenes and brings lovers, friends and enemies together in a sumptuous musical celebration that will have audiences laughing, crying and singing along.
