One of the greatest highlights of my career was performing with Andrea Bocelli at the Sundome Arena in 2010. It was an incredible honour to share the stage with such an extraordinary artist in front of 14,000 people. Andrea was exceptionally kind and gentle, and I felt truly blessed to perform alongside someone with so much compassion and warmth. My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who made this unforgettable moment possible. It will forever be a cherished memory for me. ?

Corlea, as jy dit sien… Ek is mal oor jou en jou stem!!!!!

South Africa’s strongest voice: Corlea Botha
This is worth a watch to see what SA has to offer…

Belts B4-G5: She is, hands down, one of the strongest belters ive ever come across. She reaches those G5’s so easily.
HV/Whistle D5-F6: I almost died seeing her live. Her D6’s are amazing. Im betting she could reach the 7th octave if she practiced hard.

Buy the album here: http://www.suprashop.co.za/
Our director Thomas Ferreira found old 8mm footage in a thrift store on his way back from the Klein Karoo. We made a musicvideo out of what surely is a holiday maker in South Africa’s footage. if you know who is in the film please have them mail us at: dieheuwels@gmail.com , ENJOY!

This is a speech by Steve Hofmeyr about the Afrikaner and the crime situation in South Africa. We recorded this video at the annual music festival hosted at the Voortrekker Monument by AfriForum on the 2nd November 2013 for Pretoria against the government’s attempts to change its name. If this does not move you, you are either not an Afrikaner or don’t understand Afrikaans.

The recording was done by Riana Krige with a handheld camera.

The family of the South African hostage, released in the Philippines on Sunday, have welcomed news of the release.

Muslim rebels freed five foreign hostages from a jungle hideout Sunday, but still held 19 other captives on the remote Philippine island of Jolo.

The Abu Sayyaf separatist rebels released four women, including South African, Monique Strydom, and one man after Libya agreed to pay 1 (m) million dollars in ransom for each hostage, negotiators said.

Monique’s parents in Pretoria, Monica and Heggie Aggenbag, described their daughter’s release as feeling like “Christmas”.

Their joy was lessened only by the fact that Monique’s husband Callie Strydom is still held by the rebels.

Callie’s brother, Sam Strydom said, however, that he believed his brother was stronger than Monique and would cope without her.

SOUNDBITE: (Afrikaans)
“It’s an absolutely wonderful emotional feeling that one gets when you hear something like that.”
SUPER CAPTION: Hennie Aggenbag, Father

SOUNDBITE: (Afrikaans)
“Now it’s Christmas, we’ve got the most wonderful, beautiful present”
SUPER CAPTION: Monica Aggenbag, Mother

SOUNDBITE: (English)
REPORTER QUESTION; “How do you feel about Callie (Monique’s husband who’s been left behind)?”
“Well actually that’s a sad story but what can you do. We thought that they would come out together, but one is a bargain and Callie is next, we know it”
SUPER CAPTION: Hennie Aggenbag, Father

SOUNDBITE: (English)
“I’m very happy that one is out, that’s a good sign, and I think Callie was more the stronger one than Monique and I hope he will cope without her and I’m so happy for Monique being out”
SUPER CAPTION: Sam Strydom, Callie’s brother

SOUNDBITE: (English)
“Monique said that she will not leave that place without Callie. Since then I think she got the message. The Foreign Affairs said that if she can get out she must get out, she must not stay there because we knew that Callie would follow just after her”
SUPER CAPTION: Hennie Aggenbag, Father

South African Musical Artist: Bok van Blerk
Bok van Blerk, born Louis Pepler on 30 March 1978, is a South African musician who sings in Afrikaans. He became famous in 2006 for his rendition of the Afrikaans song ‘De la Rey’ by Sean Else and Johan Vorster.

Some images to remember the ‘1995 Rugby World Cup Final’. The match was played at Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa on 24 June 1995 between the host nation, South Africa, and New Zealand.

South Africa won the encounter by three points in their first Rugby World Cup Final, which was also the first to require extra time.

Unusually, the points were scored by only one player from each team, with Andrew Mehrtens of New Zealand scoring all 12 of the All Blacks’ points (three penalties and one drop goal) and Joel Stransky tallying all 15 points (three penalties and two drop goals) for the Springboks, including his famous dramatic drop goal in extra time, which sealed the victory and their first Rugby World Cup title.
